Simple tasks like going to the toilet, traveling to work, etc become a challenge. Although hemorrhoids are not permanent by nature and go away as the swelling in the veins reduces, they can cause a considerable amount of discomfort within that time.

Sitting down for an extended period of time

Those who live a sedentary lifestyle are prone to health issues like obesity and constipation and this causes more straining in the toilet. Sitting down in front of the television or the computer for an extended period of time only worsens the condition of hemorrhoids. Take some time to move your body, go for jogs every morning or do a 30-minute cardio session. This will provide a significant amount of relief from hemorrhoids.


Not going to the toilet on time

Whenever you feel an urge to go to the bathroom, make the trip without delay. Holding in just because you are busy or do not want to use a public restroom is not a good idea. This will only aggravate the piles and worsen the condition further. If you regularly hold in then eventually your body would stop sending the signal and may not do so for up to an hour later. This will lead to straining in the toilet and put more pressure on the veins around the anus.


Too much caffeine intake

Caffeinated drinks are responsible for making the stool dry and cause constipation. This puts a lot of pressure in the veins in the rectal region, thereby increasing the discomfort caused by hemorrhoids. If you regularly suffer from constipation, then you should limit your caffeine intake and you will see a considerable improvement in the symptoms caused by hemorrhoids.


Taking one too many laxatives

When you have hardened stool often, you might resort to the use of laxatives. There are certain restrictions when it comes to the use of laxatives, they shouldn’t be used for more than a week. But some peoples make it a habit to pop a laxative whenever they have a problem with their bowel movement. After some time, the laxative won’t work well and you will still feel constipated even after taking it and it will only worsen the condition in the long run. Laxatives are not a permanent solution and you should rather resort to treating hemorrhoids with natural remedies or hemorrhoid medications.


Lifting heavy weights

Working out is definitely a good way to reduce the painful symptoms caused by hemorrhoids, however, heavy lifting is really not a good idea when you have hemorrhoids. Heavy lifting puts pressure on the clotted veins and thus worsens the condition further. When you are suffering from hemorrhoids, it is better to stick to cardio exercises for a while until the hemorrhoids are cured.


Not maintaining a healthy diet

For those who believe that hemorrhoids won’t be affected by what they eat, they cannot be more wrong. A fiber-rich diet naturally softens the stools and decreases constipation making the bowel movements easy. Maintaining a balanced diet is a good way to get hemorrhoid relief at home. But, a lack of fiber in your diet will only cause constipation and worsen the hemorrhoids.

Also, when you eat it oily or deep-fried food too much, it becomes hard to digest the food. The fats and oils present in deep-fried food settles in the stomach and irritate the stomach lining, which leads to constipating aggravating the condition of hemorrhoids.
